1913, Abbevillians enjoyed approximately 260 live performances on the
magnificent Opera restored to its turn-of-the-century condition with two
exceptions - the addition of air

Lake Secession, although not as big as Lake Greenwood is becoming more popular and is seeing a growth spurt in recent years. The lake is a popular fishing lake and the lake properties tend to be priced lower than other lakes in nearby areas.
Abbeville is a taste of yesteryear with it's cobblestone main square and historic architecture is like a travel in time back to the old south. You can see the steeple in the background. The church steeple is so tall that it is impossible to get a close up picture and get the whole church in the picture. There are plaques on the pews with the names of worshipers and fallen soldiers. Church services are still being held.

A crowd gathered for the yearly Spring Festival in Abbeville which draws crowds from all over the country to enjoy the street vendors, arts and crafts, bands, antique car show, and rides.

Another must see is The Old Trinity Church, built in 1860 and noted for its Gothic Revival architecture. When you walk through the doors of this historic landmark you are taken back in time and can almost see the men,women and children of the past as they might have been seated in the old pews. Beautiful stained glass windows absolutely take your breath away.
Pictured below The Belmont Inn which has recently been renovated and will be accepting overnight guests soon. The restaurant has been in operation and offers buffets on Sunday after church along with regular dining hours other days of the week off the menu of a variety of tasty delights. The Inn originally housed the performers and visitors who came to The Opera House
