Meet Sally Morris
How We Met Sally Morris
Finding her web site not only gave us a chance to work on finding a retirement/dream home lot. but also gave us a glance at the town we wanted to call home. Sally has been there for us every step of the way. She took the time to meet with us on our schedule. She went on more than one wild goose chase, seeing potential lots for us when we could not make more frequent trips. Even though most of our meetings have been via e-mail, Internet and fax, she was able to find us the perfect land, at the right price, in the area we wanted. Now we call Sally more than our agent, we call her our friend.
Thanks Sally,
Fred & Joy Gordy
Sally Morris says: Growing up in Greenwood with her father, Neil Cost, a local hunting icon, for whom the Greenwood chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is named, was an enriching experience. Dad was more than;just turkey hunter. In fact, he was known as the Stradivarius of Turkey Call Makers.
Sally's Dad left her a work ethic and the firm belief that she could be as successful as he was if she wasn't afraid to different. His example taught Sally to be more than just"house hunter".

Greenwood SC Realtor Tells A Real Fish Tale
I write often about life with my dad because life with him was not
your run of the mill childhood experiences. It was interesting to say
the least. He was a little on the eclectic side. This particular story
still makes me smile when I think about it years later.
When he was a young boy my dad took up with some local Indians (I
forget what tribe it was) out in Oklahoma and he was practically raised
by them, my grandmother said they couldn't keep him at home. He always
wanted to be outdoors preferably in the woods or on a lake. He spent
most of his time with the Indians where he learned to hunt and fish to
eat, not just as a pastime. My family hardly ate anything except what my
dad hunted or fished except chicken. It was a real treat to get a beef
steak and we never had a domestic turkey at Thaksgiving it was always
wild turkey. This background information about him will help you
understand better his way of thinking.
My dad had gone fishing this particular day on our local lake Lake
Greenwood,he didn't get home until very late and decided not to clean
his catch until the following morning. He put the fish in the tub (our
only bathroom mind you) and left the water dripping to keep the water
circulating to keep the fish alive. (he did this often), This you have
to understand was something we had to deal with in our house more than a
few times. I've been embarrassed many times when I had friends over and
their reaction to seeing fish in a bathtub.
Anyway he got home late that night after we were all in bed.
My mom, a very easy going lady who went with the flow, she had to be to
live with my dad,, had to get up sometime during the night and go to
the bathroom (not turning on the light). Then out of nowhere in the
pitch black something suddenly lunged at her and landed at her feet, she
completely taken off guard, terrified, screamed loudly and began
frantically stomping on whatever it was.
My dad hearing her screaming and stomping came running in the
bathroom to see what the problem was, turned on the light to see one of
his precious Large Mouth Bass laying lifeless on the floor, stomped to
death. He didn't miss a beat, he scooped the fish up leaving my mom
sitting in stunned silence and ran outside in nothing but his boxers and
proceeded to gut and clean the fish, came back in wrapped it, put it
in the freezer, washed his hands and went back to bed as if nothing had
ever happened. It never occurred to him to just toss the fish out! That
was part of the meal for the next day.
Only in the Cost house would a fish warrant such top priority. My
mom after getting over her shock chalked it up to life with daddy and
went back to bed. She never said a word to my dad that maybe his
priorities might be a bit backward. We had many laughs after the fact as
it was told over and over through the years it was just another one of
those life with Neil Cost things that you would have had to have known
him to appreciate.
Her Background
Sally grew up in Greenwood but moved to Sarasota, Florida, returned in 1999 to care for her father, well known Turkey Call Maker Neil Cost. Referred to as the Stradivarius of Turkey Call Makers. As a young child, Sally said her father also spent some time doing ink drawings of wild life and was quite good at it, selling some of them and also giving them away to admirers,Sally trying to imitate her dad would also draw, but never felt she could measure up to the talent that seemed to come so easily to her role model.
It was later in her life Sally said in a small apartment in Sarasota, Florida that she would discover that she too had a God given talent to express herself through art. As she was going through a storage building in the back yard she discovered some cans of paint in a variety of colors. Thinking of the empty wall behind a couch in her living room she knew that space needed something, but hadn't found anything to put there so she decided to try to do a wall murial. After all she says, "if it didn't look good she could always paint over it". Well, as she started to paint Sally said the brush seem to have a life of it's own, & the wall became a mountain stream with a water fall in the foreground.
That was the beginning, and she has never let her lack of formal art training stop her...Says that even after finishing many paintings "she is still amazed that she has created them." See Some of Sally's Art and Photography
This has helped her in other endeavors throughout her life knowing that if you really want to do something bad enough you will succeed if you just go on and do it and never give up. She is also an amateur photographer and loves gardening, any outdoor activity, especially loves horseback riding in her spare time.
Earlier Career Path
Sally was a Cosmetologist for twenty five years and loved the creative nature of the business, finding her background in painting to be a plus when it came to hair color and quickly had a loyal following of women and men who needed her expert knowledge of this art. The last ten years she was in the business Sally has managed several hair salons in assisted living centers and it was there she discovered another talent, working with seniors, making them feel beautiful at a time in their lives they did not feel they were. She found that she enjoyed making other people happy. A visit to her salon (a bright cheerful place filled with flowers and art) was said, was a much looked forward to event each week for the ladies like the"old days" they said. As much as she would miss being with them Sally had to find another profession, it was too much for her to lift and tug to get them in and out of their chairs, her back after years of standing on her feet was beginning to bother her and Sally decided that it was time for a new challenge. That new challenge was real estate. Sally is now one of South Carolina's most prominent Realtors.

Thank you for visiting my website and your interest in knowing more about me
My way of doing business is, no doubt, different than many of the agents you have met. Most of them are more interested in “selling you” a home than they are in “helping you” find the home of your dreams. Or using the same methods as every other Realtor does to sell your Home we recognize home means lots of different things to each family member. Therefore, the ultimate goal of this agent is to help meet as many of the diverse needs of the buyers and sellers as possible. I can and would appreciate the opportunity to help you reach your unique goals
